As we have been constantly interacting with the pharmaceutical industry supplying Toolings since 1968, we have gained excellent knowledge regarding the Tablet manufacturing process. So, it was only prudent on our part to offer the industry the best quality Tablet Press weeding out all the prevailing problems faced by the industry at that juncture.
Therefore we pooled our knowledge that we had gained from our various customers and designed the best Tablet Press focusing only on the need, based on the pharmaceutical industry’s feedback which was of immense help to us to manufacture a Tablet Press which is engineered to perfection.
High Speed Mega Press
This is a high speed Tablet Press which can be fitted with ‘75 stations’ (of BB Tooling), that gives you a simple and efficient solution for production of large volumes of small sized tablets. The Adept Mega Press is capable of achieving production of up to 4 million tablets per shift with ‘B & BB’ Toolings based on the maximum hourly speed of 540,000 Tablets (depending upon the product characteristics).
Adept Mega Press also comes with different turret sizes like 45 & 61 stations fitted with ‘D’ and ‘B’ type tooling respectively for larger diameter round tablets as well as oblong shaped tablets.
Adept Mega Press has been specially designed with a direct central drive devoid of any worm and worm wheel mechanism like conventional Tablet Compression Machines which are normally fitted with a gear ring on the turret. ‘Adept Mega Press’ is designed in such a way that the ‘Turret’ central shaft is directly coupled with the gear box shaft with a keyless coupling which ensures ‘zero’ backlash and therefore the Tablet Press can mechanically operate at high speeds and the only limiting factor is the powder/granule flow ability from the hopper to the Die stations of the Turret.
Adept Mega Press is designed for 10-Tons pre-compression load which operates hydraulically. These pressure rollers are fitted with high load capacity bearings which do require frequent lubrication. There are ‘8’ numbers wide rollers which are identical and interchangeable.
No compression springs are used either on the pre-compression rollers or main compression rollers because hydraulic power is used which gives uniform pressure during powder compression. The hydraulic system also acts as a release mechanism in case of overload and can be used to measure (optional) the applied pressure in tons.
Adept Mega Press is the only machine that has a common hopper which can be used either as a simple gravity feeder or a forced rotary feeder. In the case of Force Feeder the Tablet Press is fitted with a 3-chamber bottom driven rotary feeder mechanism fitted with an independent AC motor. An overflow indicator is provided in a rotary feeder to prevent jamming due to excess flow of powder from the hopper. In the case of gravity feeding the multi-chamber Feed Frame is made of food-grade polymer. Automatic lubrication for Turret bearing, Upper and Lower Punch head keeps machine operation smooth. As and when the Lower Punch is removed there is no need to set the plugs because they are fitted with spring loaded anti-rotation plugs. The above gives operator a lot of freedom.
Upper and Lower Punch collision prevention system is also an important feature of this Tablet Press design. The weight control as well as the pre-compression and main compression forces can be set by control knobs provided on the front panel and the calibrations are achieved through dial indicators. All the controls are connected using universal joints without any chain and sprocket mechanism.
On the control panel, all the parameters like machine speed, feeder speed, hydraulic pressure setting, lubrication and safety interlocks are controlled through a PLC. The PLC also displays pressure, tablet count, turret RPM, motor ampere and stores batch data as well as product recipe.
Adept Double Rotary Tablet Press
While designing the Tablet Press, we have given major emphasis towards safety as well as reliability and durability of machine components and this concept can be understood from the following key features that are provided on the Adept Double Sided Tablet Press.
- Safety spring (compression type) is provided to avoid overload on punches and this provision also acts as a tonnage indicator.
- In order to reduce punch jamming occurrences, tunnel tracks are provided on the cam to ensure positive lifting of the Upper Punch thereby reducing wear and tear on the cam as well.
- All care has been taken to ensure use of good quality grade casting when manufacturing Turrets in order to eliminate cracks. Detachable gear ring is used to minimize replacement costs.
- An electronic timer is provided on the Tablet Press for the auto-lubrication mechanism to ensure that right quantity of oil is regularly supplied to all the lubrication points on the machine to facilitate smooth operation.
- Setting of compression pressure and tablet weight control can be very easily done from the control panel provided on the front side of the Tablet Press without any need to open the machine doors.
- AC speed control (VFD) mechanism is fitted on the control panel which makes the operation smooth and also very easy for the operator to work with. The 5 H.P. VFD speed control gives the operator a wider choice of speed range that facilitates the shop floor to work with all types of powders which has different flow-ability characteristics to achieve optimal tablet output from this Tablet Press. With minor attachments (optional) Adept Double Rotary Tablet Press can be used to produce Bi-Layer Tablets also.
NOTE:- A standard double rotary machine without VFD mechanism can also be offered on request.
Adept Single Rotary Tablet Press
Adept Single Rotary Tablet Press’ has been designed simple yet rugged for efficient use of the machine by the operator. The machine has been made as per GMP standards and has a compact design and a very small footprint occupying minimal room space.We are one of the first manufacturers of Tablet Press in India to eliminate the gear ring on the Turret for a single side Tablet Press and pro vide the central drive to eliminate the gear mechanism in the Tablet Compression zone in order to reduce cleaning and maintenance time of this Tablet Press.
Although the machine is a simple single sided Tablet Press, we have incorporated pre-compression to improve Tablet Friability and minimize capping problem so as to enhance the productivity of the Tablet Press.
The Tablet Press has an auto-lubrication mechanism to ensure that right quantity of oil is regularly supplied to all the lubrication points on the machine and guarantee smooth operation.
Setting of compression pressures and tablet weight control can be very easily done from the control panel provided on the front of the Tablet Press without any need to open the machine doors.
NOTE:- A standard single side rotary machine without Centre Drive can be offered on request.
Mini-Press (Lab Scale)
This is a Rotary Tablet Press built as per current GMP standards and is robust in construction. This Tablet Press is very useful for R&D activities or it can also serve the purpose of producing small batches.
This R&D Mini Press is provided with a central drive mechanism for keeping the Tablet Compression zone free from powder or dust for quick cleaning. The Tablet Press has also been provided with a pre-compression facility.
The greatest flexibility of this Tablet Press is the availability of a multi-purpose Turret that can be used for all types of standard Toolings like ‘D’, ‘B’ and ‘BB’.
The control panel of the Tablet Press is fitted with an AC speed variation system to operate from 3 to 30 rpm to give maximum flexibility of operation. If required, the Tablet Press can be fitted with force feeder system for powder feeding.
With special attachments (optional) Adept Mini Tablet Press can be used to produce Bi-Layer Tablets also.
